The longest day of the year, also know as summer solstice just so happens to be International Surfing Day. Coincidence? We think not! This year, on International Surfing Day (June 20th), we're teaming up with Surfrider Foundation to host Beach Cleanups all around the world. Aside from getting as many people as possible out on the beach to make our world more "Barefoot Friendly," we're also making a film! And guess what, we need your help. Check out this video from our winemaker, Jen Wall & Surfrider's CEO, Jim Moriarty breakin' it down for you:
Sounds pretty easy, right?
Just imagine, all these people out on the beach on the same day, cleaning up beaches in their area. The best part about this big day is that there are cleanups happening everywhere! Don't live near the ocean? No problem! It doesn't matter where you live, whether it be a nearby lake, creek, river or any other body of water, you can still get in on the action! Just be sure to capture the fun on video and upload it to our Facebook Page. This is gonna be big & we're STOKED to have you joining in on the fun!

So tell us, where will you be doing your part on International Surfing Day?
2011 Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project season has officially kicked off & we are SO excited to get our ocean lovin' Foot Fans involved! On May 21st, our spokesperson, Brett Dennen came out to help us clean up Anacostia Park in Washington DC and we had an AWESOME time! After the cleanup, in true Barefoot style, the Surfrider DC chapter hosted an awesome fiesta, filled with fun, food, bubbly & a live performance from his new album, LoverBoy. Brett Dennen will be joining us for a few more cleanups this summer:
Don't live in one of those three cities? Don't fret! Check out this our list of events for more details & plenty of other cleanups (with celebrations, of course!) all around the country. Oh, and don't forget, let's get Barefoot & have a good time this summer!
