Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Minnesota Style

Our Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue season is in full swing this summer and we’re TOEtally happy with how it’s heating up. We’ve cleaned twelve beaches and counting all over the United States, including lakes in Michigan and Japanese tsunami debris on the Oregon coast.

Here are some snapshots from our latest Beach Rescue with Surfrider Foundation in the Twin Cities of Minnesota.

We had a fabulous cleanup at Lake Como in St. Paul in the morning and then reconvened at the beautiful Walker Art Center in Minneapolis in the evening to celebrate with singer/songwriter Joshua Radin and our new Beach Rescue friends.

The cloudy skies of the morning fell away just in time for the cleanup. We cleaned the lake with cool temperatures and nary a raindrop in sight.

Our friends at Surfrider Foundation brought out their paddle boards to clean the shoreline:

While Barefoot Wine fans stuck to the shore and dug in to the dirt:

All in all, we collected almost four hundred pounds of trash.

This lake is now Barefoot friendly!

Is there a better way to celebrate a clean beach than with a glass of Barefoot Pink Moscato Bubbly?

We made our way over to the Walker Art Center in the evening to enjoy the tunes of singer/songwriter Joshua Radin over a glass of Barefoot Wine.

We still have a slew of beach cleanups on the docket for the rest of the summer. Visit www.beachrescue2012.com to find one in your neighborhood.

Cheers to Barefoot friendly beaches!

Spotlight on: The Barefoot Guy, Randy Arnold

Randy Arnold is a pretty big deal here at Barefoot Wine and Bubbly. He's our original Barefooter and has been working with us since 1990. Randy helped kick-start our tradition of supporting our passions by partnering with non-profits to make the world a better place through wine. He's a fun-loving, friendly and welcoming guy that enthusiastically advocates on behalf of the LGBT community. We recently featured Randy's work in our Sole Sessions videos. We convinced him to take a break from sharing Barefoot Wine and Bubbly with nonprofits to do a little Q&A session with us so you can get to know him better.

Enjoy!

First things first, why do we call you the Barefoot Guy?

"When we first started sharing Barefoot with nonprofits, people would recognize me as the Barefoot Guy at all of our events. The name just stuck and now it's my official title. It's on my business cards and everything!"

If you had to choose just one Barefoot Wine or Bubbly to enjoy for the rest of your life, what would you pick and why?

"I love our Barefoot Bubbly Rose. It has ripe flavors of strawberries and peach. It goes with lots of different foods; my favorite pairing is with Margherita Pizza!"

What’s your favorite way to Get Barefoot and have a great time?

"I love to enjoy Barefoot wines and bubblies with friends in the backyard with BBQ. Yum!"

You love sharing Barefoot Wine & Bubbly with nonprofits. Why did you start putting the FUN in fundraising?

"I really enjoy helping non-profits raise funds by sharing our Barefoot Wine and Bubbly with them. So many non-profits are doing such great work to make our communities stronger and more just. Who wouldn't want to help?"

You’re a bona fide movie star now that your video for Sole Sessions has launched. Can we get your autograph?

"Sure! You can find me at a lot of Barefoot Wine & Bubbly events. I might feel silly giving you my autograph, but I'll happily share a glass of Barefoot Bubbly Rose with you!"

Thanks for taking a minute to talk with us, Randy! If you haven't seen his Sole Sessions video yet, give it a look:
